Ukraine and the United Kingdom will develop a joint mechanism to tackle cybercrime and organized crime.

This was discussed during the meeting of Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov with Ben Wallace, the Minister of State for Security and Economic Crime at the Home Office in London, the press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine reports.

"The UK Government is concerned over the fact that Ukraine is being used as a test site for cyber attacks, for the development of organized criminal activity and corruption by the Russian Federation. We are also interested in deepening cooperation with you both in the law enforcement field and in coordinating the actions regarding illegal migration and the rapid exchange of data. We are aware of the pressure your neighbor exerts on you and how difficult it is for you to work under these circumstances," Mr. Ben Wallace said.

Avakov, in turn, stressed that Ukraine had successful experience in the implementation of international operations over the past three year. "Over the past three years, we have enhanced the activity of our cyber security units. We have successfully implemented the international operations. In particular, Kyiv police officers recently detained an organizer of the international criminal platform known as Avalanche, which daily infected up to half a million computers around the world," Avakov said.

The parties agreed to deepen cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two states and sign a memorandum of cooperation.
