The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has expressed a strong protest over the decision of the Russian court to prolong the detention of Ukrainian political prisoner Pavlo Hryb.

Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Mariana Betsa informed this on Twitter.

"We express our protest over the decision of the Russian court to prolong the term of detention for Pavlo Hryb. We urge the Russian Federation to allow the Ukrainian doctors to visit Pavlo," she wrote.

The Krasnodar court of the Russian Federation extended the arrest of Ukrainian citizen Pavlo Hryb until May 4, 2018.

As reported, the Krasnodar court did not allow the Ukrainian consuls to attend a court hearing in the case of Pavlo Hryb in Krasnodar today.

Pavlo Hryb disappeared in Belarus on August 24. Later it became known that he was kidnapped by Russian intelligence services and transferred to the Krasnodar detention facility (Russia).
