Rebecca Harms: UN should send human rights mission to Crimea

Member of the European Parliament from Germany, co-chair of the Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance Rebecca Harms calls on the world community to realize that Crimea becomes a military outpost of Russia.

"It seems to me that the world knows little about the fact that Crimea becomes a militarized peninsula, a military outpost of Russia on the Black Sea. It is very important to understand this in the context of changes in the geostrategic situation... It seems to me that people, who are unaware of these details, may become subjected to Russia’s populism," Rebecca Harms said, speaking at the fourth international forum "Occupied Peninsula: Four Years of Resistance", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the MEP, there is an urgent need for a human rights mission to visit Crimea and the UN mission would be the best option.
