‘Normandy meeting’ in Munich not likely to take place – source

A meeting of the "Normandy Four" at the level of the foreign ministers on the margins of the Munich Security Conference is unlikely to take place.

Ukrinform learnt this from sources in the Ukrainian delegation.

"The meeting is unlikely to take place," a source said.

The reason is a busy schedule of the foreign ministers of Ukraine, Germany and Russia, and it is very difficult to find time for the meeting. It’s also questionable whether the bilateral meeting between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel would be held.

As reported, the meeting was scheduled for February 16, but due to the fact that the German foreign minister was forced to urgently leave for Berlin, it was canceled.

The Ukrainian side is ready to meet if there is such opportunity.
