Poroshenko, Stoltenberg to discuss Hungary’s blocking of Ukraine's cooperation with NATO
Head of Ukraine's Mission to NATO Vadym Prystaiko stated this, commenting on a meeting of the politicians in Munich this week, an Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels reported.
"Unblocking of the process of Ukraine's cooperation with the Alliance by the Hungarian side will be one of the issues the parties intend to discuss. The Secretary General has confirmed that NATO is disappointed with this situation and wants to quickly stop the blocking," the Ukrainian ambassador to NATO said.
Therefore, according to Prystaiko, President Poroshenko and NATO Head Stoltenberg will exchange views on this issue during the meeting in Munich at the end of this week.
The head of Ukraine's Mission to NATO says that the problem with Hungary irritates NATO no less than Ukraine.
At the same time, the ambassador offers to include the recommendations of the Venice Commission regarding the language article of the Ukrainian law on education to the text of the annual national program of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO for 2018 in order to settle the problem with Hungary.
"The President and the NATO Secretary-General will also discuss the situation of the Minsk process and the situation in the east of Ukraine, including the deployment of a peacekeeping mission," he added.
In addition, Poroshenko and Stoltenberg should discuss the holding of the Ukraine-NATO Commission at a high level during the NATO summit in Brussels in July.
As reported, Hungary blocked the holding of the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the ministerial level for the second time because of unreasonable claims to the language article of the Ukrainian law on education.
