Austria's President Alexander van der Bellen and Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl intend to visit Kyiv and Lviv during their visit to Ukraine in March.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Austria Oleksandr Shcherba informed this with reference to the article in Austria's news magazine Profil.
"In mid-March, President Alexander van der Bellen and Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl will go on a state visit to Ukraine. Trips to Kyiv and Lviv are planned," he wrote.
It is noted that during a visit to Vienna, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko presented Alexander van der Bellen with documents stating that his great-grandfather on the maternal side Maximilian Reimann was born on the territory of modern Poltava region.
"Until now, I knew only about the family roots in Russia and Estonia, now I am obviously also a bit of Ukrainian," the Austrian president said.
