Russia no longer rules out the possibility of deploying a UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas, including the Russian-Ukrainian border.

U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker said this during a telephone briefing on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported from Brussels.

"Yes, we would like to see broader mandate for the peacekeeping forces rather than just the protection of observers, including the access to the whole territory of the conflict, including the areas adjacent to the international border," Volker said.

At the same time, the American diplomat noted that during his talks with Surkov in Dubai on January 26, the Russian side was more open to the deployment of peacekeepers in Donbas.
