Poroshenko, Tillerson discuss bilateral cooperation in Davos
Poroshenko said this following the meeting that took place within the 48th annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
"Our meeting lasted one hour, during which we had the opportunity to thoroughly discuss all issues of bilateral and international cooperation. First of all, I expressed gratitude to the Secretary of State for the very important assistance provided to the Ukrainian pilots in Kabul," Poroshenko said.
In addition, the parties discussed that the U.S. investors noticed positive changes in the investment climate in Ukraine and in the fight against corruption.
The President thanked the Secretary of State for the provision of defensive weapons to Ukraine. “We already see new opportunities for cooperation in the defense sector and agreed on certain stages of this cooperation,” he noted.
Poroshenko also thanked the U.S. Secretary of State for the sanctions introduced by the American partners against the Russian residents. “I am convinced that this policy is efficient. It is very important for us to have this mechanism of influence to return Russia to the negotiating table and ensure de-occupation of Donbas and liberation of Crimea,” the President said.
