Kuleba congratulates Dunja Mijatovic on appointment as new Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights

Ukraine expects from Dunja Mijatovic, the new Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, active work on the protection of human rights in occupied Crimea and Donbas.

Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe Dmytro Kuleba said in his congratulations on Twitter.

"I wish her success in her office. I expect from her [Dunja Mijatovic] principled and active work on the protection of human rights in the occupied Crimea and Donbas and the release of our political prisoners in Russia," the diplomat wrote.

On January 24, Dunja Mijatovic was elected the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, the PACE reported on Twitter. She will serve a six-year term, beginning in April.
