President Poroshenko thanks Canada for weapons

A decision made by Canada and the USA on supply of weapons to Ukraine opens new opportunities for strengthening the defense potential of the Ukrainian army.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said this during a joint press conference with Governor General of Canada Julie Payette, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"I am very grateful for Ukraine’s inclusion into the Automatic Firearms Country Control List. In coordination with the corresponding decision by U.S. President Donald Trump, this opens up new opportunities for us to improve the defense potential of our army," Poroshenko said.
The Head of State reminded that on Wednesday, January 17, Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) approved the state defense order for 2018, which, according to Poroshenko, provided for the expansion of the defense cooperation with Canada and the US.
