Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli states that as a result of the Russian misinformation campaign, Ukraine's image in Western Europe has been distorted and it does not correspond to reality.

He said this during a round table meeting entitled "Threats to the security of Ukraine and other countries of the Eastern Partnership region and possible responses to them" held at Ukrinform.

"This disinformation campaign has a huge impact, including on the image of Ukraine in Western Europe. The image of Ukraine in Western Europe does not correspond to what is happening in the country. To a large extent, this happened due to the disinformation campaign, which is carried out in Western Europe," he said.

According to Mingarelli, in a conflict with Russia, Ukraine is forced to react to threats in three dimensions: military, economic and information. At the same time, the disinformation campaign by the Russian Federation substantially weakens Ukraine, he noted.
