State Secretary Steffen Seibert said this at a briefing on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported from Germany.
"The position of the Federal Chancellor and the Government is that the conflict in eastern Ukraine cannot be solved by military means. We need a peaceful, negotiating, diplomatic, political solution, which Germany and France have been intensively seeking for a long time in the framework of the Minsk agreements," Seibert said.
As for cooperation with the United States in the field of armaments, the German side clearly adheres to its position and does not change it – the confrontation in the east of Ukraine cannot be resolved through violence, with the help of weapons, but exclusively through cooperation and negotiations.
