A total of 74 Ukrainians who were held in captivity in ORDLO [the uncontrolled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions] have been released.

Iryna Lutsenko, the president’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, reported this on her Facebook page.

"There's good news. The exchange process is over. The Ukrainian side has received 74 hostages who were held in captivity in the occupied part of Donbas. They are returning home," Lutsenko wrote.

The representatives of Ukraine, in particular, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group for the settlement of the situation in Donbas, Iryna Gerashchenko, Ombudsman Valeriya Lutkovska, employees of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Security Service and the Defense Ministry, as well as experts of the Minsk humanitarian subgroup left for Donbas on December 26 to attend the exchange process.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with families of Ukrainian hostages on December 26. He promised that each of the liberated Ukrainians would be provided with proper medical care.
