Number of Ukrainians illegally held by militants continues to grow

The number of Ukrainians illegally detained by "LPR" and "DPR" [Luhansk and Donetsk Peoples' Republics] militants continues to grow.

Ukraine's representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) Iryna Gerashchenko said this to journalists after a meeting with the President of Ukraine.

According to her, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Hrytsak at the meeting announced a new disappointing figure – the number of Ukrainians illegally detained by militants amounted to 170 as of December 25.

Gerashchenko recalled that 74 people would be released on December 27.

According to her, the President instructed to provide liberated Ukrainians with medical aid and promptly send them home.
