The Ukrainian issue will be one of the most important during Canada's presidency of the Group of Seven (G7) next year, Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland has said.

She said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, December 21, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Canada will preside over the Group of Seven next year. Obviously, the Ukrainian issue, as always, will be one of the important issues," Freeland said.

She added that the current visit to Ukraine gives her an opportunity to consult with Ukrainians about how Canada can help Ukraine next year.
