Representatives of OSCE, Council of Europe in Ukraine coordinate efforts to promote reforms in Ukraine
As an Ukrinform correspondent reports, the corresponding letter on cooperation has been signed on December 4 by OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine Vaidotas Verba and Chairman of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine Marten Ehnberg.
"At the moment, the OSCE implements about 40 different projects in Ukraine a year, starting from constitutional and judicial reform and ending with assistance in mine clearance in eastern Ukraine. This format of cooperation will enable us, together with the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine, to plan, implement, monitor, and offer some initiatives in Ukraine," Verba told a briefing.
He noted that cooperation of the OSCE and the Council of Europe in providing assistance for Ukraine has been lasting for more than 10 years, but from now on the organizations will carry out a constant exchange of information on their current projects and hold joint events.
According to Marten Ehnberg, today there is a significant potential for expanding the cooperation of these organizations as the mandates of the Council of Europe and the OSCE largely coincide.
"Our organizations have already reached a certain level of cooperation in Ukraine. Synergy will help obtain better results," he stressed.
