Ukraine has managed to achieve the unity of the EU countries regarding the idea of deploying an international peacekeeping force to Donbas and include this provision in the joint declaration of the Eastern Partnership summit.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko stated this after the summit in Brussels on Friday, November 24, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The summit resolution mentions the European aspirations of Ukraine. We have managed to resolve another political thing - the unity of the European Union around a peacekeeping mission in Donbas," Poroshenko said.

He noted that Ukraine was actively promoting the idea of deploying an international peacekeeping force to Donbas at the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council.

"Today we managed to include this clause in the final declaration of the summit," the president said.
