France's position in relation to Ukraine remains unchanged – Chevènement
Negotiations in the Normandy format should be resumed as soon as the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany is formed, the special representative of the French Government for relations with Russia, Jean-Pierre Chevènement, said in an interview with Interfax.
"France's position in relation to Ukraine is clear, it has not changed," Chevènement said, adding that the settlement of the conflict in the east of Ukraine "is possible through strict implementation of the Minsk agreements."
He also does not see at this stage the possibility of holding negotiations in the Normandy format.
"As for the talks in the Normandy format, it makes no sense to convene them before the formation of the new Government of Germany," he said.
