President Poroshenko signs law on electronic identification and trust services

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the Law of Ukraine "On Electronic Trust Services" aimed at reforming the national legal framework related to electronic signatures through the implementation of the relevant legislation of the European Union.

This is reported by the press service of the Head of State.

The signed law, in particular, regulates provision of electronic identification and trust services.

"The law defines the legal and organizational principles for the provision of the electronic trust services, including cross-border ones, the rights and obligations of subjects of legal relations in this field, the procedure for the implementation of state supervision (control) for compliance with the requirements of legislation in the field of electronic trust services, as well as legal and organizational principles of electronic identification," the statement reads.

The law also defines the conditions of recognition of electronic trust services in Ukraine that are provided by foreign suppliers, which would ensure the active development of cross-border cooperation and the integration of our state into the global electronic information space.
