Poroshenko hopes visa-free travel agreement with UAE will come into force in Dec

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he hopes the agreement on visa-free travel with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will come into force in December, the press service of the head of state has reported.

Poroshenko stated this after talks with UAE Prime Minister and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

"The president expressed hope that this agreement will come into force in December, after the exchange of notes," reads the statement.

Poroshenko also stressed that Ukrainians would be able to travel freely to one more extremely important and attractive country and that the value of Ukrainian passports continued to grow.

The president noted that work in this direction would continue. "Within several months you will learn more very pleasant news on this subject," he added.

In addition, according to the presidential press service, during the talks the sides agreed on space cooperation. "This is extremely important for us and is a synergy of the potential of the two states," Poroshenko said.

A memorandum on cooperation in the cultural area was signed, an agreement on the support of the Crimean Tatars by the UAE was reached, and a number of important documents were signed.
