Turchynov postpones visit to Brussels due to internal situation and escalation in Donbas

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has postponed his visit to Brussels in connection with the internal situation in the country and escalation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone in Donbas.

Anna Vakhotska, spokesperson for the NSDC secretary, told this to an Ukrinform correspondent on Wednesday.

"The visit by the NSDC secretary to Brussels has been delayed due to the internal situation and escalation at the front," she said.

It was planned earlier that the NSDC secretary would chair from the Ukrainian side at a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission on Wednesday, October 18.

In addition, Turchynov was scheduled to meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
