Chubarov: Changes to Constitution on status of Crimea to be presented in October

MP, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov says that changes to the Constitution of Ukraine on the status of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea will be presented in October.

He said this during the fourth Eastern Europe Initiatives Congress in Lublin, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"MPs will consider the changes in the near future. The amendments to the Basic Law of Ukraine will be presented in a few weeks," Chubarov said.

According to him, a group of specialists is working on changes to the section of the Basic Law of Ukraine - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The main thing of the amendments is that the indigenous population of Crimea will be provided with the national autonomy and the guarantee for representation in the government agencies, Chubarov emphasized, answering the questions of an Ukrinform correspondent.
