Canada to continue supporting Ukraine - Trudeau

Canada will continue to make efforts to bring greater security and economic independence to Ukrainians.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said this in a statement on September 19, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Canada will continue to work closely with Ukraine to bring greater security, prosperity, and economic independence to the Ukrainian people," Trudeau said.
He added that warm relations between Ukraine and Canada were based on long-standing historical ties.
"Canada and Ukraine enjoy a historic friendship forged through generations of shared values and strong relations," Trudeau said.
At the end of this week, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will pay a working visit to Canada to attend the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games in which Ukraine's national team will participate for the first time.
