Klimkin discusses with Greek foreign minister Ukraine’s peacekeeping initiative

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias have discussed Ukraine’s initiative regarding the deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas.

According to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.

"The sides discussed a number of topical issues of bilateral relations and cooperation within the framework of international organizations. The issue of promoting the initiative of Ukraine regarding the deployment of an UN peacekeeping operation in the occupied territory of Donbas was one of the main topics," the report reads.

A special attention was paid to the violation of human rights in Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia and to the issue of political prisoners.

Kotzias invited Klimkin to visit Greece on an official visit in the near future.
