Ukrainian foreign minister meets with Swedish, Polish colleagues
"During the meeting, the sides discussed the ways of Ukraine's interaction with Poland and Sweden as part of the UN, in particular the Security Council," the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported on Monday, September 18.
Klimkin thanked his colleagues for consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which these countries provide within the UN, other international organizations and forums. He also emphasized the need to continue political and diplomatic pressure on Russia as an aggressor country, as well as counteracting Russian destructive actions and propaganda.
As part of the initiative of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the parties discussed the deployment of a UN peacekeeping operation in Ukrainian territory which could contribute to restoring peace and security in the Donbas.
