Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with newly appointed Secretary General of the OSCE Thomas Greminger, during which they discussed approaches to the deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission throughout the occupied Donbas.

This was reported by the press service of the Head of State.

"The sides have coordinated approaches to the deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission throughout the occupied Donbas. Petro Poroshenko noted the importance of establishing an intensive dialogue between the OSCE and the UN on this issue," the report reads.

Poroshenko informed Greminger about the development of the situation in Donbas, the implementation of the Minsk agreements, and outlined the vision of a de-occupation strategy of Crimea.

The President also called on the OSCE Secretary General to use all possible mechanisms of the Organization to release Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia and Crimea, as well as hostages held by Russian occupation forces in Donbas.
