Foreign Ministry expresses protest over 'electoral processes' in Crimea

Ukrinform
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has expressed its strong protest due to "electoral processes" in Russia-occupied Crimea, the ministry's spokeswoman, Mariana Betsa, has said.

"We express our strong protest in connection with 'electoral processes' in the occupied Crimea," she wrote on Twitter.

According to her, these "electoral processes" are a violation of international law and the laws of Ukraine.

"Ukraine does not recognize any 'electoral processes' in the occupied Crimea. It is a gross violation by the Russian Federation of international law and the laws of Ukraine," she said.

The so-called "elections" for the post of "governor" were held in Sevastopol on September 10.
