President Poroshenko: Ukraine should become member of EU, NATO as soon as possible
He stated this at a solemn ceremony of raising the National Flag of Ukraine on Sofiivska Square in Kyiv on August 23, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"By working persistently, we will bring the days when Ukraine will become a member of the European Union and a NATO member," said Poroshenko.
At the same time, he recalled that the Agreement on the EU-Ukraine Association comes into full force on September 1.
"On September 1, just in a week, the Association Agreement comes into full effect," he said.
President Poroshenko congratulated all Ukrainians on the Day of the National Flag: "I wish everyone peaceful blue sky and generous fruits of our land... I sincerely congratulate everyone on the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine!”
Today, August 23, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the National Flag.
