Flag of Ukraine becomes embodiment of independence and unbreakable spirit of Ukrainian people – Turchynov

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov stated this in his greetings on the occasion of the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine, the press service of the National Security and Defense Service of Ukraine reports.

"This day is a holiday for all generations of Ukrainians, who have for centuries fought for the independence of their Homeland. The flag of Ukraine became its heart and soul, the embodiment of Independence and unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people," Turchynov stressed.

He notes that every year the National Flag of Ukraine becomes more and more known all over the world. Tens of thousands of blue-yellow flags wavered over the Maidan, uniting people, becoming the symbol of civic consciousness, dignity, and the revival of the state and freedom, the NSDC secretary added.

"Soaked with blood, pierced by bullets, the National Flags are preserved by our warriors as the highest sanctity. With the National Flags, our fighters gain victory liberating Ukraine from the aggressor step by step," Turchynov said.

He is convinced that time will pass, and the blue-yellow flag - the embodiment of the peaceful sky and the blessed land - will fly over the entire territory of Ukraine: from Lviv to Luhansk, from Donetsk to Sevastopol!

"We are proud of our flag! May God save you, your families and our Ukraine!" the the NSDC secretary wished.
