Armed Forces main guarantor of Ukraine’s independence – President Poroshenko

The assertion of Ukraine’s independence depends on every Ukrainian, but its main guarantor is the Armed Forces and other servicepersons who are currently fighting against Russian occupants in eastern Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated this at a solemn ceremony of raising the National Flag of Ukraine on Sofiivska Square in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The fate of an independent state depends on each of us, but our main force is the Armed Forces, the National Guard and other law enforcement agencies that protect the country from Russian aggression,” Poroshenko said.
The president also stressed that the assertion of independence is the responsibility of the current generation.
Today, August 23, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the National Flag.
