Visit of U.S. Secretary of Defense to be of great importance for strengthening defense capability of Ukraine, Poroshenko hopes

President Petro Poroshenko hopes that talks with U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis, who will arrive in Kyiv on Independence Day, will be of great importance for strengthening of the defense capability of Ukraine.
The President stated this, speaking at the opening of the building of the Children's Regional Clinical Hospital during a working trip to Kirovohrad region, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"James Mattis is a great friend of Ukraine, and I believe that these negotiations will be of great importance for strengthening of the defense capability of our state," Poroshenko stressed.
The President reminded that a number of defense ministers of the partner countries, including U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis, will arrive in Ukraine to celebrate the Independence Day.
