Saakashvili ready to return to Ukraine
He said this on the air of Channel 24.
"I am going to return to Ukraine. I plan to cross the border of Ukraine with a European state. I have no other place of permanent residence in Europe or elsewhere. All my belongings are still in Ukraine. Most of my friends and the party which I head are also there. The day after tomorrow I will announce the exact date of my return," Saakashvili said.
As reported, July 27, the Administration of the President of Ukraine confirmed that Mikheil Saakashvili was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship. August 1, President Petro Poroshenko signed a corresponding decree. The reason for depriving citizenship was that Saakashvili had provided inaccurate information when applying for Ukrainian citizenship. He allegedly concealed the information about the criminal proceedings opened against him in Georgia.
