Georgian military to take part in parade on Independence Day of Ukraine

August 24, the Georgian military led by the Georgian Defense Minister will participate in the parade on the Independence Day of Ukraine.

This was discussed during the telephone conversation between President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, the press service of the Ukrainian Head of State reported.

Poroshenko expressed solidarity with the Georgian people on the ninth anniversary of the beginning of Russian aggression against Georgia.

He also stressed that Ukraine had always supported and would always support the territorial integrity of Georgia.

In turn, Georgian President Margvelashvili stressed that Georgia felt Ukraine’s support and was grateful for it. He noted that the Georgian military led by the Georgian Defense Minister would take part in the parade dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine on August 24.

In addition, both leaders condemned visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the occupied Abkhazia on Tuesday, August 8.
