President signs law to ratify agreement on cooperation with Europol

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law which ratifies the agreement on operational and strategic cooperation between Ukraine and Europol.

This is reported by the press service of the Head of State.

"President Petro Poroshenko has signed the Law of Ukraine "On Ratification of the Agreement on Operational and Strategic Cooperation between Ukraine and the European Police Office", which was concluded in the city of The Hague (Netherlands) on December 14, 2016 and approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on July 12 this year," the statement reads.

The entry into force of this agreement will deepen Ukraine's integration into the European Union's policy in field of justice and internal affairs, the development of achievements within the framework of the EU Action Plan on liberalization of the visa regime between Ukraine and the EU.

The document extends cooperation between Ukraine and the European Police Office to support Ukraine and the European Union member states in preventing and combating organized crime, terrorism and other forms of international crime.
