Berlin condemns Zakharchenko's "initiative" and considers it absolutely unacceptable

The German Government commented on a statement made by head of the so-called DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"The Federal Government condemns this step and considers it absolutely unacceptable," a government’s representative said.

Zakharchenko has no legitimate right to speak on behalf of this part of Ukraine, she said.

The German Government expects that "Russia will immediately condemn this step, and it will not express its respect and understanding to him and will not recognize it."

"The position of the German Government is clear: the solution of the conflict in and around Ukraine can be found only through negotiations. We are talking about the implementation of the Minsk agreements, which Russia, Russia-backed separatists and Ukraine agree with," the government said.

As reported, self-proclaimed leader of the so-called DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, announced the creation of Malorossiya.
