Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has proposed that NATO create a new trust fund, which should facilitate the creation in Ukraine of a national network of institutions for the psychological rehabilitation of combatants and members of their families.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said this at a press conference after a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission in Kyiv on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We have also discussed the implementation of joint cooperation projects as part of NATO's trust funds for Ukraine, in particular, the possibility of their further financing and expansion of practical cooperation between Ukraine and NATO using trust funds. I proposed launching a new trust fund, which should facilitate the creation in Ukraine of a national network of institutions for the psychological rehabilitation of combatants and members of their families," he said.

The president thanked the NATO secretary general and all member states of the alliance for an "extremely important" visit to Kyiv, reminding that the last such visit was made in 2008.

Poroshenko said that today's meeting was a sign of NATO's consistent support for Ukraine, as well as the alliance's unanimous solidarity and unity with Ukraine.
