NATO consistently supports Ukraine in countering Russian aggression – Stoltenberg
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this at a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission, which takes place in Kyiv on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Russia continues its aggressive actions against Ukraine. NATO and its allies support Ukraine. NATO and its allies did not recognize and do not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia," the head of the Alliance assured.
Stoltenberg expressed concern over the security situation in eastern Ukraine.
He has also noted that Ukraine is the only partner of NATO that participates in all operations and missions of the Alliance, in particular in Afghanistan and Kosovo.
"This meeting once again confirms the high level of partnership and friendship between NATO and Ukraine," Stoltenberg said.
The Secretary General has stressed that the Alliance supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
