Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau and Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg discussed the situation in Ukraine.

Press Secretary for Prime Minister's Office Eleanore Catenaro said this to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The two leaders discussed a wide range of bilateral and multilateral issues, including trade, climate change, NATO and the situation in Ukraine," Catenaro said.

She added that Canada and Germany agreed to jointly fight climate change. "Justin Trudeau and Angela Merkel reaffirmed their determination to implement the Paris agreement and to ratify the Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between Canada and the EU," the spokeswoman said.
