German foreign minister to discuss with his Russian counterpart implementation of Minsk accords
German Foreign Ministry Spokesman Martin Schaefer said this at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Gabriel will have the opportunity to talk with his Russian counterpart ... Of course, he will raise a number of issues that include bilateral relations and also important international issues that are on the agenda, including the conflicts in Syria, the issues of Yemen and Libya and, of course, the conflict in the east of Ukraine," the spokesperson said.
He added that Berlin and Paris expected Russia to take steps to implement the Minsk accords, since the crisis could be overcome only if both sides were ready to sincerely fulfill their obligations. He called the agreements signed in 2014 and 2015 as "good" that could lead to the end of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
