Ukraine is well prepared to receive a visa-free regime with the member countries of the European Union, and therefore there is no need for additional security measures.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze said this to journalists on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I think that we are well prepared, and that is why all the conditions that Ukraine has already fulfilled during the implementation of the action plan for visa liberalization must ensure our readiness. Therefore, I do not think that there should be any additional security measures," Klympush-Tsintsadze said, answering journalists' questions whether there is a plan to strengthen security on the state border of Ukraine after the visa-free regime with the EU member states comes into force.

In addition, Klympush-Tsintsadze has added that Ukraine is ready to provide a required number of biometric passports, but now there is "an increased demand."

As Ukrinform reported, the decision of the European Union on visa-free travel for citizens of Ukraine comes into effect on June 11.
