Austria allocates EUR 1 mln for mine clearance in Donbas

Austria has allocated EUR 1 million for the mine clearance project in Donbas

Foreign Minister of Austria Sebastian Kurtz posted this on Twitter, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I am pleased with today's decision of the Council of Ministers to provide a total of EUR 1 million for ICRC mine clearance projects in eastern Ukraine," Kurtz wrote.

The Austrian Minister noted that half of the sum would come from the Foreign Disaster Fund of the Austrian Development Agency.

Kurtz, who is also the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, said that he had met today in Kyiv with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin. The parties discussed the issues of improving the living conditions of people in eastern Ukraine and maintaining the ceasefire.
