Ex-director of Ukrainian Literature Library in Moscow found guilty of extremism, embezzlement

The Meshchansky Distrcit Court of Moscow found former director of the Library of Ukrainian Literature in Moscow Natalya Sharina guilty of extremism and embezzlement of the library's funds and gave her a four-year suspended sentence.

"The court convicts the defendant of extremism and embezzlement. Sharina is given a four-year suspended sentence," Judge Elena Gudovshnikova ruled on Monday, Interfax reports.

As reported, the trial in the case of Sharina began in November last year. The ex-director of the Ukrainian Literature Library was wrongly incriminated with inciting national hatred and enmity as well as humiliation of human dignity and embezzlement.

The Human Rights Center "Memorial" recognized Sharina as a political prisoner.
