Pavlo Klimkin: Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe supports UN’s resolution on Crimea

The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CMCE) supports the fulfillment of the UN General Assembly’s resolution on Crimea.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin wrote this on Twitter.

“The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for the first time adopted a comprehensive decision on Crimea, an important practical result," he said.

According to Klimkin, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe calls for the full implementation of the UN General Assembly Resolution on Crimea, and the Council of Europe supports the fulfillment of this resolution.

"The CMCE urged that the decision on banning the Mejlis and on banning the leaders of the Mejlis from entering Crimea be cancelled. This is an instrument of pressure on the Russian Federation!” Klimkin stressed.

He also added that the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe also offered the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe consider the issue on taking needed measures to assess the human rights situation in Crimea.
