Ukrainian Foreign Ministry urges Russia to take urgent measures to stop provocations against OSCE observers

This has been said in the comments of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry in connection with the killing and injury of OSCE Special Monitoring Mission observers in Ukraine.

"The news of the killing of one and injury of several observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in the territory temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation in certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions on April 23 was met with deep pain and sadness in Ukraine. We express our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wish speedy recovery to the injured," the statement says.

The Foreign Ministry notes that the Ukrainian side will do everything possible to ensure an immediate, comprehensive and impartial investigation into the crime in order to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has also urged Russia "to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk agreements, to take all urgent measures in order to immediately stop provocations against OSCE observers, and to ensure full security of the SMM and its unhindered access to all occupied territory, including the temporarily uncontrolled sections of the Ukrainian-Russian border."
