European Commissioner criticizes introduction of changes to Ukraine’s law on e-declaration

European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn has condemned the introduction of amendments to the law of Ukraine on electronic declaration of incomes of officials.

The European Commissioner wrote this on Twitter, an Ukrinform correspondent reported from Brussels.

"Changes to the law on e-declaration are a step back, not forward, and they should be reconsidered," Hahn wrote.

He stressed that electronic declaration should help fight corruption in public administration, and not create barriers to the work of civil society.
