The members of the U.S. Congress, who firmly supported the non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea and the return of the peninsula to Ukraine, will further maintain this stance.

Steve Chabot, U.S. Congressman for Ohio, stated this in Washington on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Sanctions against Russia should not be abolished, they should be strengthened," the American legislator said during an expert discussion in the Congress: "Crimea: Reflection of three years of Russian occupation."

Chabot stressed that he and the congressmen, who support Ukraine in the House of Representatives, "will continue stand firm against Russia amid its aggression in the region."

"We do this not only for the sake of the security and stability of our partners and allies in the region, but also for the sake of security of the American people," the member of the U.S. House of Representatives stressed.
