Japan is exerting all efforts for peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbas, therefore, supporting the sanctions against Russia.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Shigeki Sumi said this in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent at the formal reception on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Japan.
"I believe that peace in countering Russian aggression can be achieved by peaceful means. That is why Japan supports the sanctions against Russia. We are exerting all efforts for settlement of the military conflict in the Donbas by peaceful methods," Shigeki Sumi said.
The Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine added that not only politicians, but ordinary people in Japan worried about Ukraine and supported it.
