EU tomorrow to launch talks on visa cancelation for Ukraine

Interinstitutional talks on the cancelation of a visa regime for Ukraine will begin in the European Union on Tuesday, February 28.

A representative of the European Council told own Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels.

“Trilateral talks between the European Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission on a draft legislative resolution on the inclusion of Ukraine in the list of third countries whose citizens can travel without a visa [to the Schengen area] will begin on Tuesday,” said an official of the European Council.

Earlier on Monday, February 27, the European Council ruled to abolish visa requirements for the citizens of Georgia, this decision will come into force until the end of March. The Council also adopted a new mechanism for suspending visa regimes for all third countries.
