Chairman of Munich Security Conference: Ukraine needs new security guarantees

Ukrinform
New security guarantees for Ukraine are needed to settle the crisis in Donbas.

Chairman of the Munich Security Conference Wolfgang Ischinger said this at a briefing in Berlin on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from Germany.

"Perhaps, the conversation between presidents Putin and Trump could open up new prospects. Maybe, Ukraine could be given some new security guarantees, which would be stronger than those of 1994," Ischinger said.

He believes that the new US administration could declare its readiness to join the Minsk format at the level of Secretary of State or Vice President.
