Trump’s travel decree may complicate issuance of US visas to Ukrainians

Ukrinform
The procedure for issuing visas to Ukrainian citizens for repeated close visits to the United States may be complicated because of the requirements set forth in the US President Trump's decree on the abolition of the Visa Interview Waiver Program.

The text of the decree was published by the American media.

“The Secretary of State shall immediately suspend the Visa Interview Waiver Program and ensure compliance with section 222 of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1222, which requires that all individuals seeking a nonimmigrant visa undergo an in-person interview, subject to specific statutory exceptions,” the decree says.

Ukrinform has sent a request for information to the U.S. Department of State to clarify the situation, but the reply has not yet been given.
